- What is the fee for?
The fee will help to recover costs of expanding network coverage, future rollouts of new technologies and the rising cost of running mobile business.
- Is there any other way for me to avoid this fee?
There is no other way, you will need to pay the fee when you sign up for or re contract your mobile services.
- When will I start paying?
The fee will be implemented on 4 September 2012 and it will apply to all new mobile line activations (MNP) and recontracting of postpaid mobiles, as well as the monthly installment option for recontracting of postpaid mobile services.
- What is the amount of this fee?
The fee will be S$0.03 per month or S$0.36 per month depending on the type of plan you have chosen. If your total monthly bill is less than S$30, you will be exempted from this fee.
- If my monthly bill is less than S$30, do I still need to pay?
Yes, you will still need to pay if your total monthly bill is less than S$30.
- What does the fee allow me to access and use?
The fee allows you to access and use the mobile service that you have already paid for. This includes local calls, SMS, MMS and data services such as surfing the internet on your mobile phone or downloading/using applications on your device.
- Will this fee increase?
There are no plans currently to increase the Network Access and Brand Usage Fee in the future.
- Will this be charged to postpaid plans?
Yes, it will be applicable to all new mobile line activations (MNP) and recontracting of postpaid mobiles, as well as the monthly installment option for recontracting of postpaid mobile services.
- How do I know if I will be charged?
The fee will appear in your monthly bill.
- Can I opt out of this charge?
